Music, blogging & social media - LBM with Google+ & Kitmonsters

Online presence - love it or hate it, is essential and a great tool for artists. With endless new platforms and apps it can be hard to work out where to be and what to do. So the Music, Blogging & Social Media event organised by the great London Bloggers Meetup for 9th April, is pretty timely. James Howard from Google+ is on the panel, along with Kitmonsters’ Terry Tyldesley and Andrew Dubber, music industry advisor, digital expert and Professor of Music Industries Innovation at Birmingham City University.

Artists such as She Makes War are blogging and social media stars. She is a great example of a musician making the most of blogging, but not everyone’s owning it as she does. The April bloggers meetup will take a look at new developments.

With Google+ vying for musicians’ attention, James Howard is going to explain at the event why it’s great for bloggers and musicians, and show how people are innovating on it, using YouTube too.

It should be an amazing introduction to Google+ if you’re not on there already, and we’re expecting to pick up plenty of tips.

There’s a chance to ask questions, plus there’s music from singer/songwriter Toufique Ali.

It’s free to attend the meetup which is at Elixir Bar, 162 Eversholt Street, London NW1 1BL from 1830 - 2030 with a social afterwards.

If you are a blogger please sign up in advance. If you are not a blogger but would still like to come, that’s great, but please let us know ([email protected]) so that we can put you on the guest list and the organisers have some idea of numbers.

The events are informal, and there’s plenty of time to chat afterwards.

If there are any topics you’d like to see covered, then send us a message: [email protected], and we’ll do our best to make it happen.

If you can’t make it, don’t worry, we’ll bring you a report from the event.
